@GreenDayBabe500 semi permanent dye wont stain as much compared to demi so if you want to wash it out the best bet would be with semi (like manic panic) but it also washes out faster so its eaither dye often (semi) and have little tint or dye less and have a tint (demi) or dye a lot less and have a strong tint (permanent)

Thanks! This REALLY was helpful, I have a question though, since I only have garneir shampoo and conditioner, is it ok to just rinse, and not wash and shampoo?

  • gemgen101 says:

@DreamlandOfHate omg i’m sorry this is such a late response !!!! eek! and more bad news is unless you try to get your hair permanently dyed back to its original color or as close to its original color as possible the best you can do is wait for it to grow out. i’d try and go for that just because any more dyeing might ruin your hair. how is it so far?

  • gemgen101 says:

@Lipstick745 OMG really? it fades to prettier colors? dang! now i really want to buy it. i heard its really good too. its less than raw dye which is like $12. hehe im excited now ^_^. thanks for the info!!!

  • PercussionKate says:

do you always need to bleach your hair for the color to show up?

  • Lipstick745 says:

@gemgen101 Yupp! And some colors even glow in the blacklight :D TOO cool! and I tried to bleach my hair at home but it didn’t go as well as I hoped so hopefully I’ll get it fixed tomorrow :D but this video HELPED A LOT if I wouldn’t have seen this AND the step by step one Im sure I would have fried and ultimately had to cut my hair off! So I can’t stress my thank you’s! :D

  • gemgen101 says:

@PercussionKate i’m sure there are some brands that dont but i know manic panic and raw do, especially manic panic. it also depends on the color

  • DreamlandOfHate says:

my hair is naturally a soft black with some natural brown highlights in it something like that, but i’ve been using jet black hair dye becuz i wanted it as BLACK as possible, i stopped dying my hair recently becuz of the damage, i use semi-permanet, i last dyed my hair in september, my roots are very ugly….i can’t seem to get the dye out, any advice?

  • daydreamsforever says:

thanks for this,im dying my hair in a few months and i was wondering if i should use manic panic or raw, this helped a lot :)

  • XbabyCCX says:

demi permanent never stays longer in my hair, semi lasts way longer in my hair :-/ how odd

  • gemgen101 says:

@fatallyfeli aww thanks :D did the kit work for you btw?

  • fatallyfeli says:

lol yeah it worked good i did the bottom half of my hair

  • likeyou05 says:

This helped A LOT haha. Thank you so much!!!

  • gemgen101 says:

@theextra94 in my recent hair dying video i actually dye my hair w/ raw without bleaching & my hair is dark brown like yours so to answer ur first question, no it won’t show up. You use raw till there is an even layer coated on the parts you want dyed. personally i use more than needed. if u use raw there should be left over. i only dye sections of my hair & it lasts me around 2-4 months or so (around 3-4 uses or more). So if u dye ur whole head it’ll maybe last a month & a half (2-3 uses)

  • Brandon2119891 says:

I once dyed my hair blue way back then. I thought it was awsome and, I liked it if I do it again I might dye it royal or dark blue.

  • DreamlandOfHate says:

    @gemgen101
i think it’s only slightly there now
i used L’oreal natural instincts midnight black hair dye september 16th 09
it was a semi permanent :) and you have been help thanx ^_^

  • gemgen101 says:

@Lipstick745 dang! & i was going to cut my hair today too (which would get rid of most of the dyed blue) black light? which colors do that? not all right? sick! i do black light nail designs but can you imagine black light hair at a rave or something? awesome! and i’m really really glad it helped you especially to prevent any damage to your hair b/c thats what i really wanted people to understand, the proper info on dyeing and bleaching. u helped me i helped you. glad this is a good relationship

  • gemgen101 says:

@MissChistil U mean the 1st time you bleach & dye, just dyeing, or showering in general? if you bleach your hair, shampoo to get the rest of the bleach out. let dry then use the toner, then rinse (no shampoo) before you put the dye on it (check out my other video to see the process). If you’re just dying your hair then only shampoo the section you want dyed and let dry before you dye. For showering try not to use garneir but a sulfate free brand ULESS u dont care about it washing out fast

  • JustMurderIt says:

i love this : ) it helped so much haha.

  • fatallyfeli says:

    i subbed:]
nice im gonna bleach my hair . underneath im using the white out kit from hot topic

  • gemgen101 says:

@DreamlandOfHate is it still a slight color of whatever hair dye you used or is it still a vivd color? if its slightly the color as in tinted its probably demi dye and since demi has ammonia in it it’ll tint it like that. if its still annoying you can go to a salon and get a color (permanent) lighter than ur natural hair color ( so if they mess up u cna go darker AND only you will know) until ur natural hair is all back. i dunno if that helped at all though but i really hope it does

  • DreamlandOfHate says:

    @gemgen101
    it’s ok :)
but it’s still kind of odd right now, idk why it hasn’t washed out i wash my hair constantly, i even switched over to suave clarifying shampoo for help, on the 2nd wash with that, i wash it one night skip a day then wash again so i’m reali hoping for some results, i think ive noticed a bit of difference though :) still trying

  • MyJesswest says:

I like RAW & Manic Panic, They work realy good

  • theextra94 says:

i want to dye my hair red, and my hair is dark brown, will the raw color show through my brown hair if i dye it that way?
&& how much of the color do you use out of the raw bottle when you dye, is there usually some left over in the bottle?
sorry for all the questions :3.
    &great video, it helped alot :) .

  • Lipstick745 says:

I EFFIN LOVE YOU! Im so scared of dying my hair I bought the stuff and Im planning on dying a WHOLE layer of my hair D: so you can imagine how nervous I am so this really helped ^-^ thanks! Oh yeah and the thing about special effects hair dye is that when it fades it fades to beautiful colors like a magenta pink would fade to a light pink eventually its a REALLY good brand and you can find it on amazon for like 10 dollars cheaper than RAW.
