Archive for the ‘treatment for hair loss in women’ Category
I know that women also have hair on their bodies, usually nowhere near as much as men have. I’ve been through so many tests and ultrasounds and doctors appointments and hormone level tests only to find that I do not in fact have PCOS. So that’s not an answer to this question, neither is going on the pill because I have tried that and all it really does is make me so sick and queasy that I can’t be happy or comfortable. Low dosage isn’t an option—my stomach’s just that sensitive.
So I’ve reached a conclusion: I’m going to just go ahead and get electrolysis, something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I just have a couple of random areas of some hair growth on my chin and jaw line, and I try not to pluck anymore because that leaves marks. I’ve managed for a bit with just taking small scissors and cutting it down, but it just makes me so self conscious. I don’t even want to approach people anymore or talk to them nor have anyone within a foot of my face because I don’t want them to notice this about me. It’s probably so minor that nobody would, but I’ve been dealing with this long enough and it often wears on my confidence level. I will say that my mom seems to have some hair growth around the same area sometimes, and she tells me it’s probably genetic. But I don’t want it! This is actually keeping me from pursuing romantic relationships because of how self-conscious it makes me.
How many treatments on average should I expect to go through for it to cause permanent loss of this unwanted hair?
