When we feel that our hair is healthy, it gives us more confidence and we want to show it off. If we are in a room, the hair catches the attention of the many. They simply can’t resist in asking you what hair care products you used for your hair, or have you just gone to a hair salon?

These products offer various ways on making your hair shine, bounce and be healthy. But the true secret in getting beautiful hair is being able to know the needs of your hair. Let’s try to explore on the common complaints of women about their hair, its manifestations orthe symptoms, the causes and the right hair care products to treat it.

Breakage and Split Ends

This is a very common complaint among women and mostly with teenage girls. Hair feels brittle and can easily break off in just one stroke of a brush. Hair can easily get tangles and the ends have splits. The usual causes for breakage and split ends are constant treatment of the hair like straightening, curling and coloring. Hair care products for this problem are shampoos and conditioners with anti-breakage effect. And if you can’t resist the aesthetic appeal of hair color for your hair, get a demi-permanent hair color because it would not split the strands.

Frizzy and Dry Hair

Dry hair can be manifested when the hair seems to flyaway. The hair can be rough and coarse and when you comb it, strands expand or move upward with every stroke. It’s like as if a magnet has attracted it. The cause for this is when you usually style it with heated equipments like the straightening or curling irons. Too much exposure of the sun and some would say it is related with genetics. Hair care products for this problem would be conditioners containing shea butter and nut oil to provide moisture. Since this problem is a manifestation of a dehydrated hair, shampoo two to three times in a week.

Faded and Dull Hair

Dull hair is that when the radiance and glow of the hair isn’t anymore visible. Faded, would be for the hair color that looks lighter and less vibrant. The cause is when the outer part of the hair became rough because of frequent styling and exposure to heat hair equipment this in turn can cause damage making the hair porous. If a hair becomes porous, it doesn’t absorb the color of the dye so much. Hair care products for these problems with shampoo and conditioners that enhance or preserve the color dyed hair. Go also for cuticle-smoothing hair products that have natural oil components to make the hair shine.

With these information, you can diagnose your hair with the problem that it is has. Proper diagnosis leads to better cure and prognosis. Look for the appropriate hair care products with this guide.

There is another favorite hair dye besides henna in the East. It is called basma. This vegetable hair dye is environmentally friendly. It is prepared from dried leaves of tropical plant indigo, which have greenish grey color. Basma can be used only with henna or coffee, because basma itself can dye your hair in green or greenish blue. Basma has excellent cosmetology properties: it stimulates hair growth and gives it a natural shine, improves hair structure, strengthens hair roots, and eliminates dandruff.

Also as henna, basma should be prepared immediately before applying on hair; you have not to store a hair dye. Take from 20 till 100 grams of basma and henna powder depending on your hair length. The proportion is determined depending on the desired tone and hue intensity. Having dissolved a powder in proportion of 1:1 you will get a nice brown hue. If you want to get hair so black as night, the proportion should be 1:2 (henna: basma); but having changed the proportion of components (1:2 basma: henna) you will get hair of bronze color.

Apply the dye dissolved with water to cream mixture to dry or wet clean hair; it is better to start with back of the head. Then apply the dye on top of the head and on temples, and then on the entire length. For effect enhancing you should put plastic hat on your head, and then cover it with a towel. Keep the dye for 20-30 minutes (for having a light tone), or 1-3 hours (for having rich dark tone).

However, dyes from natural ingredients are not permanent as chemical dyes are. Therefore hair dyed with henna or basma should be spared; wash it with mild shampoos and rinse it with conditioners and balms of the same type (do not use deep cleaning shampoos!). Maintain the color intensity using such a rinse. Pour the mixture of 25 grams of henna and 25 grams of basma with 1.5 liters of boiling water. Filter the mixture carefully, cool it and rinse your hair with it. You have to moisturize your hair regularly and nourish it with protein masks for keeping the resulting hair shine. You can make the mask by yourself: mix 2 egg yolks, 1 teaspoon of honey, aloe leaf juice, 1 teaspoon of castor oil.

You should remember: if your hair is dyed with vegetable dye, you cannot use artificial dyes. The reaction of chemical agents with henna and basma can lead to unexpected results, including blue or green hue. Natural dye has to be completely washed off. Go to Hair Dyeing and know more about natural hair care.
